Upstream from the bridge...

…at Saint-Antonin Noble Val, a ’station verte’ in a valley boarded by Natura 2000 zones, baptised ‘Nobilis Vallis’ by the Romans, you have the medieval citadel with it’s authentic network of narrow streets, alleys and covered passageways. The architectural richness is inscribed in the registers of national patrimony, comprising diverse styles of buildings, amongst which the oldest civil building in France: the bell tower of the ‘Maison Romane’ restored by Viollet-le-Duc.

The villagerests at the confluence of two rivers, at the heart of the gorges of the Aveyron, in a natural environment bordered by high limestone cliffs, a superb spectacle.

On foot one really notices the convivial atmosphere, the liveliness, marked by the sixty-odd organisations that exist covering a fabulous spread of activities: social, artistic and sporting…. for the very young to the elderly.

All the outdoor activities are available:potholing, climbing (nearly 900 routes of all levels), canoeing in the gorges, mountain biking, swimming, horse riding, 15 marked hiking routes (more than 90 miles), discovery trails in the ZNIFF (zone of natural interest for flora and fauna) in the neighbouring national forest, tennis badminton, swimming pool, martial arts, pétanque (bowls), official firing range….
